Body Like a Back Road Sam Hunt 2:42

    By Philip Conrad-Monroe
If this was sang by someone else and didn't have all the pop references and instrumentals, it'd be fine. But country music is about the South, not the Southside of a city. Country music is about the boondocks, not downtown streets. Country music doesn't have backgroud voices screaming/chanting "hey" repeatedly. THAT IS POP/HIP-HOP. Sam Hunt dresses like he's from LA or NYC and not Nashville. You can tell Sam Hunt knows nothing about country by how the only reference to country in the song is the words "back road". Has Sam Hunt ever even stepped foot in the Grand Ole Opry? It's a honest question. If I had to take a guess, it would be "no" because nothing in his music or persona reflects Country music. In Take Your Time, he rapped the first part of the song... NOT COUNTRY. Sam Hunt is a talented artist, but he's genre confused. Sam, you're a good pop or hip-hop, but not a good country artist. Please leave country music so you can take your talents where they belong and would be most fruitful!!

This song is great! May not be what people want, but it's 2017! Not 2009! He's fresh, artistic, very very handsome. :) keep it up!!
  • Absolutely zero stars

I almost came to tears when I saw this was the #1 country song on iTunes. Only dirt road this guy has been down is his buddy's. Such a shame that this is where country is today. Wish everyone was from TX/OK so that you could still appreciate real country

  • Hip Hop Hey

    By ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪
This isn't even country. It has the Hip Hop Hey in it (the four or so guys yelling Hey Hey Hey that appears in every rap song now) among other hip hop/r&b, alternative/indie, rock, edm, and pop tropes that are not country. Also, the song itself doesn't make sense. Body like a back road'? Such a ridiscious way of descrbing a woman's body. Why is he even describing a woman's body anyway? If you're going make a song that obejctifies us, at least make it a baseball analogy (see: Swing)
  • Line Officially Crossed to Pop

    By StreyDrw
Sam Hunt's debut album was a great blend of country and pop, and i'll be the first to admit that I am an old school country fan. But there was something about Sam's music, he really perfected the blend between the two. THIS, however, is completely pop with a little country infused into the lyrics. Trash, sorry.
  • Burning Garbage Sounds Better Than This

    By ARealCountryMusicFan
Country music has always had great storytelling; this is trash. This song demonstrates that country is pop, only with a singer who is trying to sound southern. What happened to the creativity? There isn't even a guitar in this. Country music used to only rely on paper, pencil, and an acoustic instrument. Now it is using electric sounds. There isn't anything that separates it from other music. Any person who thinks this song is a good country song needs to be punched in the throat. Shape up Nashville.
  • Got to say...

This a really good song, I love the beat and meaning but I don't consider this country music.
