  • 🥀 The Whole Album & Film

    By PrettyWithaPistol
Having seen and grown up with the original, like many of you here, the 2017 live-action remake had set themselves up for a real challenge. The original Disney films and their soundtracks are classics for a reason, so, like many others, I had some reservations when I heard the news and saw the casting lineup. And sure, the trailer's version of the iconic "Beauty and the Beast" (Tale as old as time) song, sung by Ariana Grande and John Legend, left more to the imagination than the actual song revealed. I won't argue that. However, remember that this is all about beautiful music and impactful storytelling. In that sense, I adored the whole experience and felt that both the film and movie achieved this. I saw the movie and bought the whole album soon after. I love listening to it in my car and singing along to it with my sister (also in her 20's) as we have done since the original 1991 film's compositions were released. Although, I do wish the album songs were longer, rather than only being the length of what was sung onscreen (case for some, not all of the songs are short). Also, the NEW songs included are amazing and so moving ("Evermore" by both Dan Stevens and Josh Groban and "How Does a Moment Last Forever" by Celine Dion). A final note, while I enjoyed his character in the original, I never really loved Gaston until Luke Evans came along. Haha, God bless that beautiful and talented man 🌹

The soundtrack is amazing, as is the movie.

unbelievable performance by Audra McDonald in both the movie and the soundtrack! She finds a way to steal the movie even when her voice is coming out of a closet. Bravo!!!

The whole soundtrack is just beautiful. Everything I loved as a kid about the songs, plus more. I loved that Celine did a song for it as well, and love John and Ariana's rendition of "Beauty and the Beast". Plus, Audra?? Yes please. Brings back great memories while making lovely new ones as well.

The evermore by Dan Stevens was in my opinion the beast sing in the movie... I love how they gave beast a solo song in the movie 💯
  • No, Disney, no...

Beauty and the Beast is my absolute favorite Disney song. Ever. So imagine my immense disappointment when I heard this version. Ugh, I can't. I can't even bear to hear this version of the song. It makes me sad. I feel offended, even that Disney would mess up such a beautiful song. Arianna Grande does not match this song at all. Ugh, barf. Terrible choice. I do like John Legend's other music but sadly his voice doesn't match either.
