These ladies are wonderful... it's a shame the album was recorded so hot and compressed that it's fatiguing to listen to.

  • Walk Like an Egyptian gets 2 stars

I got "Walk Like an Egyptian" for free a little while back. I only give it 2 stars because they ruined a perfectly good song. What's with all the yodeling? They sing okay, but they aren't great. I like how they sound like they sang Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy (from company B) from the 20's or 30's, but that's about all I like is there old fashioned sound.
  • Thank you Morning Becomes Eclectic

I first heard the Puppinis on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic when their "Mr. Sandman" was played and I thought "well, I've never heard THIS version before". Just saw them Live last week and they are as tight in their musicianship live as they are on recording. Fun, clever, and inventive. It's a joy to hear real musicians (because their talents go far past the great harmonies) having fun with music. I agree with the album review, though. More original tracks please! Love the covers, but love the original stuff too.
  • A pretty amazing album

This is an amazing album. Not only do you have classic jazz hits, you have more contemporary music as well and the beautiful original songs. I personally love "And She Sang". It's very reminiscent (to me at least) of something that might come out of a Tim Burton movie (I imagined it something Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas might sing). This album is totally worth spending 10 dollars on if you can appreciate stuff that sounds like 40's music or you aren't afraid of trying something different from today's music.
  • I LOVE IT!!

This is a fabulous ablum, and one of the best free songs ever. Although my mom used to listen to it back in the day, i can't see why the younger generations don't want to listen to it. I created a fabulous dance to it, and i must say every thought it was lovely.
  • don't like it

The original song is an 80's classic and it fine the way it is, This is like too much mixed voices and ugly tones and it actually gives me a headache, I don't like it at all.

Different, a good way of describing this album. For those out there who listen to music because they enjoy sound.
  • If you like this......

....then you'll really love Girls from Mars and their album Planet Swing! Found them by accident when I was looking for Puppini Sisters songs. Love the Puppini Sisters, but liked their first album better than this one......I agree w/ other reviewers about the original material -- great stuff!
