  • Sublime

Absolutely suberp! What a woman, what a voice! Esperanza is one of the best female singers I have heard in recent times. Her smooth, jazz-y voice is a breath of fresh air! Original, indie, fascinating. I'd highly recommend everyone buy her albums!
  • Her music's not bad either...

I fell in love with her the first time I saw her: her hair, her voice, her smile, and of course, her vibrant energy -- she loves making music to entertain, and it shows. If only I were young again... But at least she makes me remember what it once felt like, to fall in love. And to enjoy her music in my heart and soul. Thank you, God bless you always!
  • The best....

The best jazz voice since June Christy. Wish she would do some standards as well.

I own Junjo, Esperanza, Chamber Music Society, and Radio Music Society. They are all my favorite album by any artist. This was the first album I bought by Esperanza Spalding (several years ago) and the strange thing is, when I first got it, I didn't like it that much. However, the second time I listened to it, I kind of liked a few songs, so I gave it another chance a few days later. Suddenly, I loved the whole thing and now I listen to it all the time. The same thing happened when I got Chamber Music Society and Radio Music Society, so even if you don't like this album when you first listen to it, give it another chance or two and soon you will be jamming. It's kind of the opposite of a lot of pop music that seems catchy and fun at first, but gets on your nerves easily. This music never gets old and it's definitely worth a lot more than it is being sold for. This album is a definite success and I can't wait for more from Esperanza Spalding, my favorite musical artist.
  • Fabulous voice, but . . .

There is so much scatting around on nearly all of her songs, that it is frustrating for me. I want so badly to truely hear that wonderful voice, but there is so much interruption. For me, its like listening to a radio that has intermittent static. I would like for her to have an album where she really belts out some songs without scatting, without instrumental interruption, just pure singing. I think she would be an excellent choice for a Whitney Houston movie! I believe she could truly hit all the right notes. I hope her new album has more singing and less creative interjection.

Anyone who believes Justin beiber deserves the Grammy more than her obviously has no real taste in music
