About Gator Country 101.9
Southwest Florida's country station on 101.9 FM
Gator Country 101.9 is a country station on 101.9 FM serving Southwest Florida, from Port Charlotte to the Everglades. Its FCC licence is for WWGR, licensed to Fort Myers, Florida, and held by Renda Broadcasting Corporation of Nevada. The station signed on in December 1969 as WHEW, which always played country. Renda bought it in 1994 and renamed it Gator Country, and Renda says it has been the region's number one country station for more than 30 years.
The site's lineup starts with Mel & Scott in the Morning on weekdays from 5 to 9 a.m., followed by Mel middays, Randy Savage, Buzzy Ford and Stefanie, plus Country Countdown USA on weekends. Renda says the station plays 20 songs in a row twice a day, at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The studio line is 239-498-1019.
RADIO JOX plays the station's StreamTheWorld stream. Gator Country's official Listen Live player names the Triton mount WWGR_FM, and RADIO JOX built the direct address from StreamTheWorld's public pattern. The stream identifies itself as WWGR_FM.
