About Whistle 100.5
The Carolinas' #1 for new country on 100.5 FM
Whistle 100.5 is iHeartMedia's contemporary country station for Greenville, Spartanburg and the Upstate, billed as "The Carolinas' #1 For New Country". Its FCC licence is for WSSL-FM on 100.5 FM, licensed to Gray Court, South Carolina, and held by IHM Licenses, LLC. The studios are on North Main Street in downtown Greenville.
The station's site lists Ellis & Bradley, The Eddie Foxx Show, Aaron Michael, The Bobby Bones Show and After MidNite with Granger Smith, plus Whistleland Cares community features and Storm Watch weather coverage. The 100.5 frequency signed on in November 1960 as WLBG-FM, sister to WLBG 860 AM in Laurens. It became WGXL in the 1970s, and its tower was later moved to Gray Court with a power increase to reach the Greenville-Spartanburg market.
RADIO JOX plays iHeartMedia's own stream for this station. iHeart's public station directory lists it as station 2105 (WSSL-FM, market Greenville-SC). RADIO JOX built the address from iHeart's stream pattern using that number. The stream doesn't send a station name in its metadata.
